WOULD YOU ROCK THE WEIRD JEANS TRENDS THAT ARE CONFUSING THE INTERNET

Jeans are a pretty mainstream piece of clothing — but lately, it seems like retailers and designers are trying to convince us of the opposite. It all started with those weird Topshop clear knee mom jeans. The internet had divided opinions about whether they were hot or not.
Topshop turned the regular mid-waisted mom jeans into an unconventional piece by adding two large clear windows on the knees. People were confused and wondered who would ever wear them. The young actress and star of Netflix’s Stranger Things Millie Bobby Brown surprised everyone when she posted a picture on her Instagram profile wearing the clear knee jeans. Suddenly, the clear knee jeans were not looking that bad. Some of her fans stated that only Millie can pull off those jeans.

Shortly after the release of clear knee jeans in March, Topshop went even further and released the completely see-through clear plastic jeans. This time not only the knees were getting a window. The party-plastic jeans were completely transparent from waist to toe. According to Topshop, the jeans were ‘out-of-the-ordinary’ and ‘guaranteed to get people talking.’ They were apparently right because once again the internet went crazy over the clear plastic jeans, but not for the right reasons. Topshop described the jeans as perfect for costume and festival wear. On the top of that, the company said that they are appropriate for everyday wear if you combine them with shorts underneath or an oversized jumper. Basically, anything that will cover your bum.

Vetements made a daring pair of jeans with a back zipper that allows you to unzip it and show off your goodies. The extreme pair of jeans was a result of their collaboration with the renewed denim brand Levi’s.

Next, the ultimate It girl Gigi Hadid was spotted with a multi-functional pair of bottoms. Her detachable booty short jeans were looking like pant and shorts at the same time. The unconventional jeans were a courtesy of Y/Project and sold by Opening Ceremony for $425. At least you get shorts and jeans for the price. The same style is no longer available but the company still has a similar pair in stock.

The last crazy thing in the world of jeans comes from the same brand Y/project. This time they crossed all limits and decided to get rid of the part that covers the bum. Their latest innovation is basically a denim belt attached to button-down leg warmers. The detachable pants are available for purchase at FWRD for unbelievable $570. It’s unclear how a regular person would wear these jeans in everyday life. Probably it’s just a matter of time when a celebrity will show up in these not so ordinary jeans and convince the majority that they look cool.
