Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu, better known by his stage name Tinie Tempah , has become almost as well known for his forward-thinking style choices and perennial front-row fashion week appearances as for his music.
We're showing you how to take the best of the bold rapper's style and incorporate it into your own wardrobe—from grandad collars to green bombers.
1. NO COLLAR IS THE NEW COLLAR
For those warmer days, be sure to pick up a
collarless shirt. It's a style that will add an
element of contemporary cool to pretty much any
outfit—whether worn in the office or to some
ritzy garden party with foosball on the lawn.
2. GIVE GREEN A GO
The tonal sneakers get this outfit off to a very good start, but it's the green bomber that should be top of your wish-list. Verdant shades are set to be big for the spring and summer months, but the added bonus of a bomber in a military hue is that it's adaptable enough to be worn year-round.
3. MASTER WARM-WEATHER FORMAL WEAR
Don't let a spike in the mercury deter you from dressing up for a big occasion. As shown here, a white T-shirt underneath a finely cut linen suit is both sharp and seasonally appropriate.
4. FIND A PAIR OF SIGNATURE SHADES
Wayfarers are all well and good, but when the sun (eventually) appears and every man in a 20-mile radius pulls out his Wayfarers, having some shades with a little extra panache can go a long way. Tinie is particularly fond of a Lennon-esque rounded frame, but you can always meet in the middle with a model like the Gregory Peck, which adds a touch of edge to the equation.
5. BRING IN SOME COLOR
Spring is a season to experiment with tone, texture, and fresh materials—meaning it's time to pack away the navy and black, at least for a while. That doesn't mean you have to go all-in, though. So think about working color into your wardrobe subtly, swapping out the navy blazer for something with a bit more verve in light blue, dark green, or a washed-out red.
