A whole lot of beauty trends came to light in 2015 which sometimes I get this questions in my head, 'which ones are necessary and which ones weren't' but thanks to time, we can say goodbye to some of those over the top trends we are just tired of. You'll be surprised at what beauty experts want us to stop doing in 2016... more scoop after the jump, enjoy!
VISIBLE CONTUOURING: This year it’s all about
light contouring, which will give you a more natural
look and still sculpt your cheekbones. Makeup
should highlight and enhance the features you
already have, not completely cover them up. I hope a softer, more natural look comes back into trend—this always looks beautiful and elegant and is completely timeless.

SHARP AND BOXY BROWS: You know what they look like: They’re overly filled in and squared off at the
beginning, and look like they were drawn on with a
stencil. Makeup isn’t geometry class! Your brows
should always look feathery and lightly colored in, so
they leave you looking youthful and fresh-faced,
rather than harsh and fake.
EAGLE NAILS: Whether nude or colored, almond shaped nails need to stay in 2015. In 2016, shape your nails into a way that mimics that of your cuticles for a more natural look.
‘FAN-LIKE' LASHES: Highlighting your lashes is a way to draw attention to your eyes, but it has to be done the right way or they will end up looking really fake. To make sure your lashes look natural, apply several
coats of mascara, waiting a minute in between
applications. Or use individual falsies, or cut a lash
strip in half and apply it to the outer corner of your
eye only.
OVERDRAWN LIPS: If you already have an Angelina
Jolie-like pout, stick to a barely there nude lip or just
use balm, since a light pastel shade makes lips look
plump, and the last thing you need is for your lips to
not be proportionate to the rest of your features.
SUPER-DARK SMOKEY EYE: It’s always more flattering when a smoky eye has dimension, rather than jet black from your lash line to your brow bone.
INSANELY LONG EXTENSIONS: This year it’s all about texture and short, chic cuts. Leave your Rapunzel layer in your bathroom draw this year.
GO EASY ON FOUNDATION: People should stop
copying the heavy-foundation tutorials. Girls feel like
they need to drown their face in foundation and
contouring products in order to achieve a flawless
finish. In reality, these techniques look better on
camera than they do in real life.Try using a more
natural foundation—and less of it—and contouring
with a powder bronzer. Not only will this look more
natural, but it will be much faster as well.
Give it a rest, ombré lip. Let’s get rid of illusions in
general and embrace makeup that enhances what we have.
CLOWN CONTOURING: Crazy contouring or facial mapping, where you basically draw all over your face using heavily applied makeup in the wrong colors and then pretend a Beauty blender can save the day...let's just make it stop. In the age of body- positive declarations, let's bring back the love for natural and subtle enhancements of our facial features.
While we are all entitled to our respective opinions, I simply suggest you choose right those irritable or over the top trends you're tired of cos guess what, 2016 is all about imperfect beauty! No need to hide under heavy makeup anymore!
Here’s to looking more beautiful in 2016. Happy New
Year!
