WASHING THE BEAST

Lots of men and women have trouble washing their thick hair. But its not the hair, it's you! That's right you. It's not a bad thing of course, it's a good thing because I get to give you a nice tip! Some women wash their hair in a ball. In the process they're scratching the scalp, tearing the strands of hair, washing too hard, and even tangling even more.
What you want to do is section your hair into 4's, or into 6 sections. The point of this is decrease the tangling when washing your hair. Another thing we mess up on, is our shampoo and conditioner. When going to the hair supply store, or Walmart, be sure to look at the labels and check for "Sulfates" or "Paraben". They're both pretty harmful to the scalp, and isn't healthy for the hair. The less ingredients your shampoo and conditioner have, the better chance you have of having drying, brittle hair.
2. Tying your roots At night

Tying your hair up at night is like saying "Thank you" for the hard day at work. There's a lot of silk, satin scarfs you can buy at Walmart, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Kmart, and other places as well. This simply keeps your strands for tearing, and damaging. Including keeping the moisture in your hair.
3. Butter up that hair girl!

For hair growth, moisture is the key to your roots. Oils, butters, hair lotions, are all excellent to keep moisture in your hair. Oils like rosemary oil, olive oil, coconut oil, castro oil, almond oil, and all the other oils you can think of gives you benefits on keeping your hair growing. And the butters are like a sealant to the hair to keep that moisture in your hair for days. The point of this is to make sure your hair never becomes brittle, and crunchy. You don't want your hair feeling like fall leaves, you want it soft and moist. That's why it's nice to have those natural oils and butters next you. When going to the store, I would suggest ordering online or a health food store. Make sure everything is organic, 100% natural, and not synthetic. It'll do your hair a favor.
4. Don't you dare trim my hair!

I know it's hard to let the ends of your hair go, but soon it will grow and not grow slow. Some of us just can not let our hair go. It's a known fact, and this is for every woman In this world. But do you not realize your hair is coming out more than you just trimming it and getting it over with? The point to hair growth is getting rid of the dead hair. This will encourage your hair to grow back faster. The longer you just sit and refuse to trim, the more it goes up to your roots and *SNAP* it breaks. If you are really that scared of trimming, take a few months and trim tiny, tiny pieces. It least you're cutting something.
5. protect MY HAIR

Protective hairstyles will always be your best friend for growing natural, damaged, or permed hair. Styles like sew-ins, box braids, yarn twist, yarn locks, braided up-dos, Ghana braids, kinky twist and more can seriously help your hair grow. This is the part where some people mess up on...The moisture. If you go to someone and they just braid your hair into whatever style you want, you're gonna have a problem. I would suggest moisturizing before you braid/twist anything into your hair. Most people put grease in the hair, but that's not good either. Grease is a sealant but it builds up extra dirt. That's why you want shea butter, or cocoa butter on your scalp and hair. If you can braid/twist a protective style into your own hair sure to wash and moisturize your hair. Not only will this help the hair that's braided, but it'll also help your scalp as well! With all that moisture, and a protective style, you will see amazing results when you take that baby out.
6. Don't stress me out

Stress has a very negative impact while you are on your hair journey. Taking pills, worrying, tired, are all bad negativity on your hair and your body as a whole. Try baby steps on creating a happy place for your mind and soul. Yoga, exercising, watching tv, dancing, all are good ways to get your mind off things. Being happy makes your body happy and hair. So don't stress yourself, relax yourself!
7. Your hair eats AND DRINKS healthy too

Overall these tips don't just happen within a few days or months. It takes patience, and time. So don't rush, or stress yourself out because you don't see any results in a month. I hope you enjoyed this post!
